I seem to hear this phrase all the time. I find that "you only live once" seems to be a popular excuse for doing stupid things. Sure, doing drugs and alcohol and breaking the rules is wrong, but you only live once. Why not go ahead and do whatever you want, before it's too late? I think this idea is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, since when has that fact that you live once (I pray no one thought you lived twice, physically anyway) ever justified doing things that are bad for you? If anything, it means the exact opposite. I think you shouldn't do these things, because they're bad for you and could cause irreversible damage. Yeah, it's a kind of conservative idea, but if you only live once why waste it? Your life should be more than endless "fun" at the expense of you and those around you. It should mean something. I think this explains the phrase better:
And that's my humble opinion,
Nemo

I kind of like that idea of YOLO. Especially if you consider that we don't actually live until we know Christ. Then we would only live from then through eternity. Until YOLO, we are just dead and the risk we take is permanently vacationing without sunscreen.
